The Hills are Alive

The hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung for a thousand years
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears
My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds that rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like the chime that flies from a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook as it trips and falls over stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to prey
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I've heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I'll sing once more.

Orcas Trapped in Ice

Here's some amazing footage of the dozen killer whales trapped in the ice about 30 kilometres off the coast of Inukjuak, Quebec.

If the reports are true, then there is a happy ending to this story.
The killer whales reportedly reached more open waters in Hudson Bay thanks to overnight winds that shifted the ice.

Big Brother is Watching

Security cameras are almost everywhere nowadays.

Sometimes, they catch something a little different!

West Coast Soundtracks

Sometimes I wonder if I'm just unknowingly playing a part in a movie with the cliché scenes with sudden downpours, a music soundtrack and all....

Here's the latest case in point on my recent trip to the West Coast as I'm about to start a new chapter in my life:

As the plane enters Vancouver air space, the movie I was watching comes to an end and I switch to a random album on the on-board entertainment system, and the song Let Go from the previously unknown The Japanese Popstars starts playing as we're cruising into YVR...

And then, here's the song that was constantly playing on the various radio stations while I was driving throughout Victoria...

But like Becca said to Hank in Californication, "I think it's all going to be ok. Chapters end. Sometimes you gotta shake things up." Let's hope the same can be said for me.

Home is Wherever I'm with You

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros nicely sum up what's really important in life with their song "Home"...
