Considering the unpredictable weather slated for the day, I decided to play it safe and not risk another hike in a lightning storm by taking a drive along the Icefields Parkway from Lake Louise to the Athabasca Glacier.
Known as one of the most scenic drives in the world, the Icefields Parkway did not disappoint. It was hard keeping my eyes on the road with all the mountains all around.
Here are a few photos I took along the way...
Crowfoot Glacier |
Mistaya Canyon |
It started snowing near Parker Ridge but quickly cleared up....
As you might already know, I drove along the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, which is also said to be one of the most scenic drives in North America. It has a different look and is amazing but I found the Icefields Parkway even more awe-inspiring. Nevertheless, both drives are definitely worthwhile. Just remember to keep your eye on the road once in a while!
